The Ed discusses more possible Torquay signings

OMAR MUSSA

Omar Mussa is a midfielder who impressed against United for Weymouth last December, with plenty of industry and energy in an otherwise struggling team. He was then heavily linked with a move to Torquay, but alas the Belgian never appeared at Plainmoor. The side-note here is that Omar is under contract at the Terras until 2023, but with GJ already apparently offering money for Tony Lee, perhaps there’s room in the United coffers for a player who could potentially bloom down in Devon.

Date of Birth: 20/8/00 – Height: 1.84m – Place of Birth: Belgium – 21/22: NL, Appearances 34, Goals 1, Yellow/Red Cards 5/1

JORDAN YOUNG

Pacy attacker Jordan Young signed permanently for Chippenham in February from Gloucester, and has done well for the Bluebirds, scoring 9 goals for the NLS team and 3 valuable ones in the last 2 as the team scraped into the play-offs. The ex-Swindon Town youngster is still only 22 (23 in July) and with Gary Johnson looking to revamp our attack with fresh talent, could be considered, though like Omar Mussa there would be a dreaded transfer fee involved!

Date of Birth: 31/7/99 – Height: 1.75m – Place of Birth: Chippenham – 21/22: NLS/NLN, Appearances 35, Goals 11, Yellow/Red Cards 6/0

MAX KRETZSCHMAR

Max Kretzschmar is a familiar name to United supporters, having been an integral part of a Woking FC team that we’ve crossed swords with on a number of occasions over the last few years! The attacking midfielder has definitely got an eye for goal, scoring 13 in the NL last season for the Cards and subsequently winning the Woking Supporters’ and Players’ Player of the Year awards for 2021-22. The 28 year-old has now decided to leave Woking, and could fit the bill at United.

Date of Birth: 12/10/93 – Height: 1.74m – Place of Birth: London – 21/22: NL, Appearances 34, Goals 13, Yellow/Red Cards 5/0

DION KELLY-EVANS

Full back Kelly-Evans is leaving Notts County this summer after 3 years at Meadow Lane. With Ben Wynter sadly departing, the gap at right back is substantial and Dion is a competitive defender with plenty of energy to get forward. As is often the case, the geographical aspect may rule out the Coventry-born 25 year-old wanting to move down to Devon, but as someone who should be looking at a move to another National League club, he’s certainly worth a mention this summer.

Date of Birth: 21/9/96 – Height: 1.77m – Place of Birth: Coventry – 21/22: NL, Appearances 28, Goals 0, Yellow/Red Cards 7/1

CURRENT TUFC SQUAD:

GOALKEEPERS: Mark Halstead

DEFENDERS: Dan Martin, Dean Moxey, Ali Omar

MIDFIELDERS: Asa Hall, Tom Lapslie, Alex Moyse, Keelan O’Connell, Gabby Rogers

STRIKERS: Olaf Koszela
