Joe looks at possible signings for Gary Johnson this summer

RYAN SEAGER

A striker with an eye for a goal is a must this season and Westcountry born Ryan Seager may fit the bill. 27 goals in 40 games last season for NLS Hungerford is an excellent return and he may well be looking to have another crack at the National league, considering he didn’t get a huge amount of game time at Yeovil prior to dropping down to the NLS.

Date of Birth: 5/2/96 – Height: 1.76m – Place of Birth: Yeovil – 2021-22: NLS, Played 40, Goals 27, Yellows/Red Cards 4/0

CIAN HARRIES

Released by Bristol Rovers, the 25 year old left sided centre-half had been with Rovers since 2020, making nearly 50 appearances. Mixed reviews from the Rovers fans who think he had a tendency to overplay at times, but could be a good option for both club and player as he looks to get his career back on track.

Date of Birth: 1/4/97 – Height: 1.85m – Place of Birth: Birmingham – 2021-22: League 2, Played 16, Goals 1, Yellows/Red Cards 7/1

SAM SMART

The winger impressed for a fairly unremarkable Eastleigh side when they came to Plainmoor in April, and if memory serves me right he’s looked dangerous at Plainmoor before. Smart spent a short time out on loan at Havant this season but was soon recalled and fought his way back into the Eastleigh team. One thing we missed at the start of this season was pace and trickery on the wing and Smart could be the answer to that.

Date of Birth: 16/7/98 – Height: 1.75m – Place of Birth: Denmead – 2021-22: NL/NLS, Played 31, Goals 2, Yellows/Red Cards 4/0

JACK ROLES

Currently in contract renewal talks with Woking, the centre midfielder could be the perfect replacement for Armani Little. Having come through the youth set up with Tottenham, Jack’s had a couple of short loan spells in the EFL before signing for Woking in February. He signed off the season with a cracking 25 yard finish against Eastleigh and could fill the expected Armani Little shaped hole in our midfield.

Date of Birth: 26/2/99 – Height: 1.82m – Place of Birth: London – 2021-22: NL, Played 10, Goals 1, Yellows/Red Cards 3/0

BRENNAN CAMP

Released by Bournemouth, Brennan featured in the Weymouth side that won promotion to the NLS in 2020 and then spent subsequent seasons on loan at Weymouth and Eastleigh in the National League. Over 40 National League appearances at the age of 21 could make Camp a potential target to bolster the defence, especially in light of Joe Lewis’s expected departure this summer.

Date of Birth: 12/10/00 – Height: 1.81m – Place of Birth: Portland – 2021-22: NL, Played 15, Goals 1, Yellow/Red Cards 3/0
