OPPOSITION Q&A

@BeesPod talk about their team Barnet FC

Hi there, so how would you summarise your season so far?

Our season has been incredibly topsy turvy. We had 7 games under Harry Kewell at the start of the season which were awful. He said later words to the effect that he was happy with the 2 points from 7 games as he didn’t think we’d get any! Our Head of Football (now Head Coach) Dean Brennan took over and we went on a run where we got 25 points in 15 games, so we climbed up the table. However lately we’ve had some heavy defeats including a spanking away at Notts County.

What’s been your highlights of the season up to this point?

Highlights include a brilliant 2-1 away win at Stockport, as well as a run of 3 wins in 3 where we beat your team, Woking and Maidenhead in quick succession.

Your form hasn’t been good, what’s the main reasons for this?

Of late we’ve had a few key injuries but not enough to get thrashed so many times. Personally I think the squad is very unbalanced and we need two or three players in vital areas quickly.

Who are your key players and why?

If Ephron Mason-Clark plays well then Barnet play well, however he’s become a target for opposition defenders who just resort to hacking him down. As well as EMC, Sam Beard is a cracking left back who hopefully has got over his recent illness.

How does the gaffer like to set the team up?

Lately we’ve been switching between a 3-5-2, 4-2-3-1 and 4-3-3. Could be any of those!

What’s your most likely line-up?

Difficult to predict this as we’ve brought in two new signings this week and we’ve had a spate of injuries.

Will you bring many down to Plainmoor?

With the weather reported I doubt more than 100 will make the trip.

What’s the main strengths and weaknesses of the team?

Main strengths are some of our creative talents and attacking full backs. Weaknesses are midfield. We’ve never got that right this season.

Which opposition teams and players have impressed you most?

Stockport have really impressed me as well as Chesterfield but their budgets are on another level. You can’t look past Tschimanga and it’s terrible what’s happened to him.

And finally what’s your prediction for Saturdays game?

I think it will be a comfortable 2-0 win for Torquay.
