THE WEEK AHEAD
Tuesday – TUFC v Solihull Moors @ Plainmoor (19.45 KO)
United host Solihull at Plainmoor on Tuesday evening. The postponement on the weekend has resulted in a gap of 10 days since their win over Southend. Moors narrowly missed out on promotion last season after defeat to Grimsby.
Saturday – Wealdstone v TUFC @ Grosvenor Vale
Saturday sees the Gulls head to the Capital to face Wealdstone. The Stones have started the campaign well and sit in 6th position at this early stage.
Saturday – Bridgwater United U18’s v TUFC Youth U18’s @ Bridgwater & Taunton College Sports Zone (10.30 KO)
The young Gulls’ delayed start to the season could get under way as they travel up the M5. Bridgwater the opponent, a side United beat in the league cup final last April.
Sunday – TUWFC v Poole Town Ladies @ Coach Road, Devon FA (14.00 KO)
United host Poole with both sides looking for their first win of the season. The visitors started the season with a 7-2 loss to Bishops Lydeard.
PLAYED FOR BOTH
Former front-man Danny Wright made the switch from Damson Park to Plainmoor back in 2020. He spent two seasons at each club making over 50 appearances for both. Another striker, Nathan Blissett had identical records for the respective sides, having made 41 league appearances for both.
Josh Umerah had far more success at Wealdstone, which earned himself a move to the FL with Hartlepool. Elliot Benyon found form at Plainmoor and Grosvenor Vale scoring goals aplenty. Gary Owers’ signing Chris Regis appeared for both sides in the 18/19 campaign.

ON THIS DAY
13th September 2018 – Gary Johnson is appointed manager, after the sacking of Gary Owers. GJ takes over the Gulls as they sit in the bottom half of the NLS.
18th September 2007 – The Gulls defeat Histon 5-4 in an incredible match which sees Chris Todd net the winner in injury time.
13th September 2001 – United lose 2-0 to a strong Spurs side at White Hart Lane. Past and future England internationals Les Ferdinand and Ledley King on the scoresheet.
16th September 1899 – The Club’s first ever match as they beat Upton Cricket Club 5-0 in a friendly.
