Hi David, so how would you summarise your season so far?
Overall its been OK, we started well and stayed in the play-off places for a short while. Since November we’ve struggled.
As you mention, the team have been struggling in recent months, what’s the main reasons for this?
We’ve struggled with some bad injuries to quite a few players, then Covid got into the camp but the league pushed us to play 3 matches with less than the current player requirement. We lost all 3, this started a poor run which is continuing. Confidence is low.
Have the club made any additions yet in January?
We sold Joel Senior to Carlisle Utd, and brought in 4 players, most notable is our previous No.9 Jordan Hulme on loan until end of the season from AFC Fylde. Hopefully he’ll find some form once match fit and help stabilise our position outside the relegation zone.
What’s been your highlights of the season so far?
Have to say the win at Torquay at the beginning of the season, we hit the ground running and we didn’t expect that victory against yourselves.
Who’s your key players and why?
We’re normally an attack-minded team, so Ryan Colclough on the wing is one to watch if he’s on form. Dan Mooney too on the opposite wing. They tend to rotate through he game.
Who’s the manager and how does he like to set the team up?
Phil Parkinson is the manager, he’s full time this season for the first time. He likes to play out from the back, utilise the wingers and create from there playing through the thirds.
Is he under pressure after recent form?
Due to his recent success and promotions in previous seasons, he’s not under as much pressure as some managers would be, however this run of poor form has to stop sooner rather than later or his position may become untenable.
Where’s best for the Yellow Army to find pre-match food and drinks?
The King George which is few hundred yards along Moss Lane from the ground is a good local with match day atmosphere. The food in the ground is good and reasonably priced as well.

Which opposition teams and players have impressed you most?
Stockport County have impressed us recently, they beat us both times convincingly. Under Dave Challinor they will be hard to stop this season now. Sarsevic being a stand out ex-league player from Bolton.
And finally, what’s your prediction for the game on Saturday?
On current form, I expect a narrow loss to yourselves 1-2. Hopefully I’m wrong and we can get at least a draw.
