OPPOSITION Q&A

Aldershot-Town-Badge

Rhys Emberson discusses his team before Saturday’s game…

Hi Rhys so how would you sum up your season so far?

To sum up our season up to this point? Woeful, near the bottom and really struggling. Hoping to turn a corner but been awful so far.

What’s been the main reasons for your struggles?

Recruitment simple as that really, the signing of players hasn’t been great at all.

How’s your recent form been?

Won against Grimsby to the surprise of all a couple of weeks ago! However lost the previous 10 home games, and our form is terrible.

Who are your key players and why?

Key players: forward Corie Andrews started the season really well, and ex-Forest Green midfielder Scott Wagstaff is a big name at the level and the experienced head we needed.

PLAYER PROFILE – Corie Andrews

Position – Striker

Date of Birth – 20th September 1997 – 24 years-old

Birthplace – Lambeth

Height – 1.78m

Previous Clubs – Crystal Palace, Margate, Kingstonian, Whyteleafe, AFC Wimbledon

NL Stats 21-22 – Played 14, Goals 5, Yellow/Red Cards 3/0

Who’s the gaffer and how does he like to set the team up?

Mark Molesley is a legend of a player at the club. As manager he sets up a back 4 and depending on availability goes with either 4-3-3 or 4-4-2.

What’s your likely line up for Tuesday night?

I really couldn’t predict it! It’ll be Walker in goal, back 4 of Kinsella, Oxlaide-Chamberlain, KLF and Jordan, midfield depends on injuries hopefully Vennings and Wagstaff are back for this one.

Where’s best for the Yellow Army to grab pre-match food and drinks?

I recommend the Crimea for a drink always the best pub in Aldershot for a bite. You’re not too far from town so plenty of places to go to.

Do you think you can avoid relegation?

Personally I think we’re in real trouble and need a big turnaround to avoid the drop…but it’s not impossible.

Who are the best opposition teams and players you have seen?

I’ve not done too many games this season but Wrexham tore us apart in one of those games. I can’t give any individual performances a shout out.

And finally, give us a prediction for the game?

I’m going to go very optimistic and say 2-1 to shots!
