Les Hyson discusses his team before Saturday’s game…

Hi Les – so before we talk about the team, tell us a bit about yourself and how long have you supported Havant?

My name is Les Hyson and I am chairman of the Hawks supporters club. I used to watch Havant Town before the merger in 1998 and have supported The Hawks ever since.

How’s the teams recent form been?

Our form going into this game is quite good, winning 5 and losing 2 of our last 7 games.

What’s been your highlights of the season so far?

I’d say the highlights so far are the away victories at Hampton & Richmond and Ebbsfleet United, and our fine 5-2 victory last Saturday against Concord Rangers.

Who are your key players and why?

Our key players are goalie Ross Worner, imo the best keeper in this division and has a excellent penalty saving record for the Hawks. Josh Passley who is a attacking full back who loves to get down the right flank. Billy Clifford who is a creative midfielder, Jake McCarthy another excellent midfielder. Upfront there is Tommy Wright who can hit a mean effort from distance and Scott Rendell who is big in the air with lots of football league experience

PLAYER PROFILE – Billy Clifford

Tell us a bit about your manager?

Manager Paul Doswell has a wealth of experience at National League level having managed Eastleigh and Sutton United, who he took to two promotions and a fantastic FA Cup run losing in the 5th round to Arsenal in 2017.

What’s your likely line-up and formation for Saturday?

Likely starting line up – Worner, Passley,Magri,Oastler,Adebowale, Collins, Gobern,McCarthy,Roberts, Rendell and Wright.

Will you bring many supporters down for the game?

I would imagine we will bring between 150 /200 fans to the game.

What’s been your best FA Cup results at Havant over the years?

Our best FA Cup results over the years has to be our run to the 4th round in 07/08 season beating York City away, Notts County away, drawing with Swansea away and beating them in the replay to set up a trip to Anfield to face Liverpool. Despite taking the lead twice and going in 2-2 at half time, we lost the tie 5-2 – but gave Liverpool a big fright.

And finally, give us a prediction for the cup game?

My prediction for the game 1-1 with us sneaking a 2-1 win in the replay.
