A Catch Up With: TULFC Manager Vicki Fannon

Ed @DomRoman caught up with TULFC manager Vicki Fannon for the first time in 2018:

How was the squad’s fitness coming back in after the Xmas and New Year break? Anybody really struggling to get up to speed?!

No not at all, fitness fine as the girls do a lot of training on their own and in their own time. Plus we only had one week off from training anyway!

A bit late to ask but what are your new year’s resolutions for TULFC?

Just to carry on where we left off.

Only two games so far in 2018, but a Cup semi-final win in the bag – can you talk us briefly through that game and Alex Sheppard’s winner?

It was a tough game, Plympton dug deep and certainly didn’t make things easy for us. Shepp’s goal was a true spirited performance. Header from a corner, boom into the back of the net!

When is the Cup final, who are the opposition and where is it being played?

We are playing Plymouth Argyle Ladies, Friday 6th April 7pm kick off at Coach Road Newton Abbot.

Do you think the Herald Express should give more coverage to the ladies team, especially considering how well you are doing compared to the men?!

It would be nice to get some coverage in the paper, I do send match reports to them.

What does February/March hold for TULFC?

A MASSIVE fixture back log, we are playing up to 3 games a week to try and fit all of these games in due to the weather postponements.

Good luck Vicki!
