1 – TOGETHER WE ARE STRONGER
In an ideal world the club would be bonded together, from the top to the bottom. That’s clearly not the case at the moment (did Clarke even know we were playing last night?), but after last week’s further revolt against the owners you can sense a real togetherness happening between the TEAM and the SUPPORTERS. It’s amazing what that feeling can achieve (just look at last season), and those last two matches have made all the difference to our season. ‘Strength in adversity’ is the name of the game, so get behind Nico and the boys this Saturday.
2 – DAN SPARKES – PLAYER OF THE YEAR?
I’ve said it most of the season that Sparksy has been one of our better players, and he proved it again last night. The dismay at his injury in last night’s game illustrated the high regard Dan is held in, as Twitter was flooded with get well soon messages for the winger. So thank goodness the injury doesn’t seem as bad as first feared, the boy is a fighter and with any luck he’ll be back soon.
3 – 4-4-2….
Verma OFF, Lee ON last night in the 2nd half at Solihull and a change of formation to 4-4-2, followed by a glorious winner which had me dancing round our living room! I wasn’t at the game so I can’t be sure that the two were totally linked. However width has been an issue all season, so it will interesting to see if any changes will be made for Saturday. At least Plan B is there if needed, even if it is an on loan right-back playing on the wing!
4 – MID-WEEK POLL
5 – NEXT UP
Chester at Home on Saturday. Our team do matter and whatever the future holds with these owners, we need to be in National League. Let’s show Nico and the boys our support when they need it most.
Aldershot and Lincoln Away to follow – TORQUAY TALK will be at both of these tough games, bring it on!
