ABOUT ME

I’m the co-host of ‘Tales from the Meadowbank’ we are an unofficial DWFC podcast and pretty new. My friend and I have been attending games home and away for a good few years now and we thought it might be a fun idea to turn our pre and post match day chats into a podcast.

START TO THE SEASON

A mixed bag, won 3, drawn 3 and lost 2. Some tough games already against Dagenham, Maidstone and Truro. We are a team in transition, we lost some strong players; Charlie Carter and Jordan Norville-Williams to National League teams and our age finally caught up with our talisman Jason Prior, Tony Craig and Luke Moore. We’ve also had an injury hangover from last season with a number of our first team players yet to return. We’ve recruited well (9 players) with much younger players from higher leagues: Josh Barrett (Aldershot) and Harry Forster (Crawley) as always it takes time to gel.

RECENT FORM

Anxiety inducing ! Last 2 games we’ve drawn 3-3 (Billericay and Chelmsford), going forward we are really dangerous but there’s a big Brennan Camp shaped hole in our defence and we’ve looked suspect down the sides. Hopefully he’s back Saturday.

PROMOTION CHANCES

I do fancy our chances, it really depends on whether we can get these new players gelling quickly enough to stay in touch, keep them fit and get our injured players back. We can beat anyone on our day but this is an unforgiving league as we found out last year when we simply ran out of players.

TALKING MARC!

There’s enough places where you can get stories about him already! Marc is Marmite I get that, but in a world of celebrity part-owners, chancers and broken promises, Marc is a proper football person and genuinely cares deeply about this club, the community and football at this level. To get a different perspective on him find the ‘Business of football’ channel on YouTube, his recent interview there is a great example of what it takes to run a club at this level.

KEY PLAYERS

Josh Barrett, joined as Charlie Carters replacement, many of you will know him at this level, a highly technical player, always positive and looking to do something different, scored 2 worldies already. Oh and the opposition fans hate him…so another plus! Also Brennan Camp, right centre-back. Playing below his level, quick, strong, brave and also very dangerous at corners. We need him fit for Saturday.
