MANAGER – RYAN PETERS
A long-time assistant to former manager Alan Devonshire, Ryan Peters took charge of the Magpies on an interim basis in November 2025 after Devonshire stood down after a decade in charge. He later took charge on a permanent basis in May 2026, after guided the Magpies to the National League South.
After starting his playing career with Brentford, Peters had loan spells with Gravesend and Northfleet, AFC Wimbledon, Crawley Town and Margate before joining the latter permanently in 2008. He then moved on to Braintree Town where he first crossed paths with Devonshire and he later followed him to York Road when he joined the Magpies as a player-coach in 2015.
PLAYER PROFILE – JOSH UMERAH
A familiar face to many for his season at Plainmoor in the 2020-21 campaign, Josh Umerah joined the Magpies as part of their big summer rebuild in 2025. A product of the Charlton Athletic Academy, Umerah helped the Addicks’ Under-18 side win the PDL2 along with finishing top scorer for the competition. Impressive performances at youth level earned him his EFL Championship debut in early 2016 against Hull City.
While at The Addicks, Umerah also went on loan to Kilmarnock, Wycombe Wanderers and Boreham Wood. He then left to join Ebbsfleet United in 2019 and moved again to the Gulls in 2020. For the 2021-22 season at his next port of call, Wealdstone, Umerah found his goalscoring touch as he netted an impressive 17 goals including five in his first seven games.
Following this he enjoyed a spell at Hartlepool United, where he spent two years, scoring 17 during his time in the North East. An impressive first season saw him win the League Two PFA fan’s Player of the Month award for January 2023. In May of 2024, Umerah joined Dagenham and Redbridge where he would spend a season scoring 11 in 44 appearances.

Torquay United had to settle for a point on their return to Plainmoor as they were held to a draw by Maidenhead United.
The Gulls went close early on when Blu Lo-Everton saw a free-kick from the left nodded behind for a corner on eight minutes. Four minutes later, Louis Dennis burst through on goal for the Gulls – only to be denied by a last-ditch tackle by Maidenhead defender Emmanuel Onarisse.
On 26 minutes, Dan Hayfield was denied by the reflexes of Magpies keeper Jordi Van Stappershoef as his angled effort was parried behind.
Maidenhead threatened in the 33rd minute when Jordan Ragguette produced a dangerous looking cross which eluded everyone in the penalty area.
The Gulls finally made the breakthrough that their dominance deserved four minutes before the break when Lo-Everton drilled home a low strike from an angle to score his third of the campaign.
In the second half, Dennis drew a routine save from Van Stappershoef with a long-range effort on 49 minutes.
Two minutes later, Gulls keeper James Hamon was called into action when he tipped a header from Remy Clerima following a Josh Popoola free-kick.
Maidenhead found an equaliser in the 54th minute equalised when former Gull Josh Umerah curled a free-kick from the edge of the area past Hamon.
On 72 minutes, Torquay had a penalty appeal turned down after Dennis made a bursting run into the penalty area before being felled, but referee Said Ouchene adjudged that Dennis had dived and promptly booked him.
Former Gull Dillon De Silva raced towards goal before he was denied by Hamon on 89 minutes. In injury time, Van Stoppershoef turned a shot from Jordan Young behind for a corner – as the Gulls were forced to settle for a point.
