A long time… without giving my age away, and getting promoted to the National League South by the playoffs against Gloucester! Because it also completed back2back2back promotions…
SEASON SO FAR
Adapting to the league has been a challenge, you can’t get away with mistakes that you might in the Southern League. We’ve played well overall, bar a crazy 10min spell against Billericay. Defensively we need to sharped up if we want to achieve the target at the start of the season, which was to push for a play off place. Going forward, much like Torquay, we’ve created lots of chances but haven’t taken them which has cost us points.
STAND-OUT PLAYERS
Trae Cook-Appiah looks like a great signing. Darryl Sanders has settled really well into this division and pulls the strings in midfield, his range of passing and vision is nuts. Ryan Kinnane, club captain, always leads by example.
THE MANAGER
Top class! First season in the is division for Johno (Paul Johnson), so he’s learning as well. I wouldn’t have anyone else as he’s guided us to so much success.
LINE-UP/TACTICS
I think we’ll be unchanged except for Tom Leggett who is injured. Knee injury picked up against Horsham. Brandon Mason will come back in at LB with Holzman moving back to CB. We are possession based team. We like to counter and use the wing backs lot to provide the width. The front 4 will rotate.
PRE-MATCH PINT
I suspect it’s segregated tomorrow so United Fans will have their own fans zone with bar and food outlets, it’s one the main things this club does really well is the match day experience.
PREDICTION
2-2 Draw… but I wouldn’t put it passed us to win this one 2-1! We tend to like the bigger challenges.
