Chris discusses the game at Plainmoor
SHAPE & STRUCTURE
Horsham had a lot of the football at Plainmoor on Tuesday night, and the men in Yellow had to do a lot of running. This has been a theme of home games this season and it’s hard to fathom why. But the shape and structure remained good throughout. Jordan Dyer was vocal and the experience of Jordan Thomas in recent weeks has brought a reassuring feel to the back line. The organisation of the team has been good for most of the season and that gets you through on nights when you aren’t at your best.

SQUAD ORGANISATION
The squad is developing and evolving in front of our eyes this season. From the whole new squad in the summer, tweaks and subtle changes are helping. The co-chairmen talked of the need for patience in last night’s matchday programme to ensure that you get who you need when you need them. Tomlinson, Seymour and Crosbie have been loaned for game time and Jordan Young and Thomas, along with WJD have made a big difference. A few injuries along the way are inevitable also. But there is full backing to getting the recruitment right with this regime.

MAGIC MOX
Maybe it’s the sentiment in me, but it was awesome to see Dean Moxey back out there again. Brought on to shore things up, he headed and kicked everything like a young pup and nobody got around him. He was vocal and strong as ever. It does now feel that we need to enjoy him while we can, as his appearances are few and far between.

MUSSA’S EMERGENCE
Whisper it quietly, but the player that we all knew was in there is starting to come out of Omar Mussa. He was excellent at Enfield last time out and was again on Tuesday night. He was lively, alert and was the outlet for the attacking spark. He also completed what I am pretty sure is his first 90 minutes for the club. Watch this space over the coming months.
WEMBLEY CHANCE
Torquay being in a cup competition in the New Year hasn’t happened much in recent times, so this is great news. A trip to Gosport Borough awaits in the New Year with the incentive of a last 16 place. There are four important league games to focus on before themat comes along, but it’s nice to have under the tree. A trip to Wembley anybody?
