OPPOSITION Q&A
Steven discusses the Romans
SEASON SUMMARY
I’m pleased we are still in the mix for a play-off place and we are in a good spot going into the final few games. Had it not been for injuries in the past couple of months I think we would have an evening higher points tally.
RECENT FORM
We’re unbeaten in 5 (3 draws, 2 wins).
HIGHLIGHTS
I’ve loved seeing another season of healthy 4-figure crowds at Twerton Park. I don’t think that’s something I’ll ever take for granted. On the pitch, though, beating Chippenham always puts a smile on my face. We also enjoyed a run of 5 straight league victories spanning late January – February, which included an important victory over our bogey side, Dartford, and an impressive win over St Albans too.
TACTICS/POSSIBLE LINE-UP
It’s been a little different in the last few weeks, due to injuries and we are fluid in our formation in some games, too, so it’s difficult to say for certain! There is a strong case to say 4-4-2 is preferred, though.
GK: Buse
Def: Greenslade, Batten, Parselle, Dyer
Mid: Clark (or Frear), Smith, Hayfield, Yeboah
ST: Cooke, Wilson
BIG CROWD?
Yes, I would imagine in excess of 2,500. I’m not sure it will sell out, as it’s not quite the headline fixture it was back in the 2018-2019 season, but I’m sure it’ll still be a bumper crowd and fantastic atmosphere.
PRE-MATCH REFRESHMENTS
If you’re arriving by train, there’s a new sports bar called Ludo immediately next to Bath Spa station. That’s then very close to the taxi rank or bus station to get to Twerton (bus service number 5 goes from the bus station to Twerton Park on a 10 min frequency).
BEST OPPOSITION
Farnborough were very good and very physical when they came to Bath recently. Aaron Kuhl had a superb game (I feel like he always does) so I’m very glad he’s been recalled by Dorking.
PREDICTION
Goal-fest with both teams trying to win it!
