OPPOSITION Q&A
Steve discusses the White Tigers
ABOUT ME
I have been supporting Truro City since 2007 and the famous cup run that ended in the victory at Wembley in the FA Vase. I was in the military for many years and found it hard to attend a lot of games, now retired I try and get to most home games and selected away games.
RECENT FORM
Recently form has been decent overall for a side new to this level, it’s always hard coming up a level, coupled with difficulties associated attracting players to the South West and our fixture pile up in recent months has proved a challenge for everyone.
HIGHLIGHTS
Highlights this season have been playing against some top quality sides……and getting results, Chelmsford away, Slough Town and obviously our win on Boxing Day and taking 4 points from Taunton.
KEY PLAYERS
Key players…..with such a small and focused squad everyone has been key to our game over the season, obviously the strikers get the headlines but at times Adelsbury and Palmer at the back have held Truro together.
THE MANAGER
I’m sure Paul Wotton’s name is familiar to Torquay fans given his playing career along the coast at Plymouth, Paul and his assistant Yetti I believe want each and every player that puts on the Truro City shirt to be the best version of themselves they can be whether it’s a 34 year old defender or a 19 year old loanee. Truro’s style is a fast paced passing style, and trying to outwork the opposition until the final whistle.
GLOUCESTER GROUND
Gloucester’s ground is pretty decent for non league, car parking is a bit limited, but it’s on an industrial estate so take your chances parking there….I’ve not made any local pubs as I drive up from Cornwall then straight back…..there’s a McDonald’s fairly close though.
BEST OPPOSITION
The best teams we’ve faced so far have been Worthing and Chelmsford, both play really good attractive football, deserving of a higher level.
PREDICTION
Predictions…..well I will go for a repeat of Boxing Day 1-0 Truro City.
