LAST MEETING
Tuesday February 12, 2019, Hemel Hempstead Town 1 Torquay United 4
Showing no signs of rustiness after a two-and-a-half-week break, Torquay United outplayed Hemel Hempstead Town in every department to crush the Tudors and restore a four-point lead at the top of the National League South at Vauxhall Road.
The Gulls made it 15 wins and only one defeat in 19 games under manager Gary Johnson, a run that has seen them score 59 goals along the way.
First half efforts from Saikou Janneh and Jake Andrews sent them on their way before skipper Asa Hall and leading marksman Jamie Reid hit the back of the net in the second half.
A stoppage-time header by defender Frankie Musonda was little consolation for the Tudors, who not only could not cope with United’s attacking play but were also given no room or respite when they had the ball.
