TT INTERVIEW

Lewis talks about the Iron from Braintree
ABOUT ME
I’m Lewis, I support Spurs and Braintree and I love all types of Football (mens, women’s, club/country, or from any country), I’ve been watching Braintree for a few years properly now but my first game was with my dad, uncle and brother in 2018, and I’ve had a season ticket since 2022/23.
EXPECTATIONS FOR 23/24
My initial expectations were a play-off spot (7th/6th) but now I’m not so sure.
OPENING GAMES
Winning once in the 97 minute was good against opening day league leaders Truro but losing two games and being just short of a win away to Dover last weekend isn’t the ideal start, but we showed glimpses of magic against Chippenham on Saturday.

KEY PLAYERS
Jack Sims – first team keeper for last season and only missed a couple of games, Kyran Clements – vice captain, loyal defender and has an eye for goal, Joe Grimwood – big, physical, ‘brexit’ CB, that isn’t afraid of a challenge.
THE MANAGER
Angelo Harrop – plays a 5-3-2 in defence/4-4-2 in possession and expects the most out of all his players, he doesn’t expect unprofessional behaviour and wants only the very best attitudes, but sets a family vibe in the dressing room between all the staff and players.
POSSIBLE LINE-UP
Sims – Beadle, Stevenson, White (c), Clements, Grimwood – L. Davies, Payne, Lambe – W. Davies, Blackwell. But who knows…
AWAY SUPPORT
I reckon a minimum of 30/40 will go as it’s Bank Holiday.
FACTS ABOUT THE IRON
We’ve played Tottenham in a testimonial game (H) in 1952 in front of 4000+ and won 8-1 (only one website had a score, so I could be wrong).
PREDICTION
Torquay 3-1 Braintree, we weren’t the best away last season (especially the longer trips) and that seems to have followed through to this season.
