Dom Roman – @DomRoman
‘No pitch inspection’ the Boreham Wood social media proudly declared on Friday! That means there will be definitely be a game right… Well with the clock ticking past 1.30, word got out of referee concerns over part of the Wood pitch, and soon after the fixture was inevitably postponed. Cue much understandable anger and anguish from the Yellow Army, whilst a similar thing happened at Huish Park…sympathy to the Alty supporters who made the arduous trip to Somerset as well. A shambles? A disgrace? Tinpot? All of the above and more, as supporters are treated shabbily and pay the price with their hard-earned money. Let’s take a look at reactions…

OTHER PLANS!
Postponements like these should prompt the Footballing authorities to look at the processes in place. Boreham Wood’s pitch didn’t suddenly become unplayable in parts, and earlier inspections should have been made to avoid Torquay supporters time and trouble. Wood should clearly not have got over-confident, as the weather forecast is there for all to see and a cautious approach has to be better for all. Good to see some of the Yellow Army find footie elsewhere and not let the whole thing dampen their day. As for the Gulls, a 3rd rearranged game is added to the list and with temperatures remaining low, there is concern this could be followed by Woking FC (a). February and March could be very busy months indeed.
