A: “Yeah the effort from the lads is still there, we will always go over to the fans. We appreciate them travelling and the money they’ve spent.”
2 – Q: “A lot of football fans will take a win however they come but you’ve always said your team is in the entertainment business and you’ve certainly entertained tonight, they were looking for goals right until the end.”
A: “Yeah, there was certainly a lot of entertainment there tonight for everyone, we had a little laugh with the geezer in the crowd. It was the best header I’ve ever seen at Plainmoor, tried to sign him up to compete with Danny Wright after the game but he ignored me.”
3 – Q: “Well you got a standing ovation from the yellow army at the end there, when you haven’t scored as many goals as you liked this season the strikers come into focus, it was intelligent play from both your strikers with a bit of luck for Goodwin as well today.”
A: “Yeah that’s what we needed, a little but of luck. We got into those areas quite a few times today but didn’t get our shots away. I’m pleased for the lads because they need the confidence. It was a great away performance.”
4 – Q: “Nobody wants to talk about lucky but there were two decisions at either end that went against us today, what were your thoughts on those?”
A: “You’re going to cost me money asking questions like that! (laughs) But no I don’t want to go down that route, we’ve just got to be ready for Tuesday. We need everybody at the minute playing their best.”
5 – Q: “Gaffer, a disappointing evening and it all started so well?”
A: “Yeah we had a plan to shut them down early and we earned our goal. Ross coming back from a corner at their end got tripped so he wasn’t in position for their first goal. Second goal was a penalty wasn’t it? No? Well they’re a decent team and further forward in their project with a similar squad to last year. That’s why they’re around the top.”
