MANAGER: PAUL WARNE

Paul Warne has been tasked with reviving the fortunes of Derby County since he was appointed as the permanent successor to Wayne Rooney, following Liam Roseniorโ€™s spell in interim charge, in September 2022.

He had previously made his name as manager of Rotherham United, who he also had two spells as a player with (1999-2005 & 2009-2012). Warne was appointed as manager of the Millers in 2016, following a successful spell as caretaker manager.

His time at the New York Stadium proved to be a great success as he led Rotherham to three promotions from League One: once as play-off winners in 2017-18 and twice as runners-up in 2019-20 and 2021-22. His third promotion with the Millers also coincided with lifting the EFL Trophy in 2022.

PLAYER TO WATCH: CONOR HOURIHANE

Republic of Ireland international midfielder Conor Hourihane is no stranger to the South West having played for Plymouth Argyle between 2011 and 2014 โ€“ following brief spells with Sunderland and Ipswich Town.

Hourihane then joined Barnsley in 2014 and helped the Tykes win the EFL Trophy in the 2015-16 season against Oxford United, which was swiftly followed by a League One play-off final win against Millwall.

In January 2017, Hourihane earned a move to Aston Villa and helped them win promotion back to the Premier League in the 2018-19 campaign. He joined the Rams in the summer of 2022 after he was released by the Villains at the end of the 2021-22 season.

He has represented the Republic of Ireland 36 times and has scored once.
