Danny previews the upcoming week, as well as looking at events that happened on this day for the week commencing 24th October.

THE WEEK AHEAD

Tuesday – Eastleigh v TUFC @ Silverlake Stadium (19.45 KO)

It’s not been a happy hunting ground in recent years, and the added pressure of being bottom makes this a tough mid-week trip to the South Coast. The second half events of Altrincham may leave room for slight optimism but a 90 minute performance will be required if they are to come away with anything with a continually depleted squad.

Saturday – Notts County v TUFC @ Meadow Lane (15.00 KO)

The second away trip in a gruelling week for the Gulls, and it’s the toughest of the lot as they head to Nottingham. County are in fine form, 3 clear at the top, and Langstaff scoring goals like there is no tomorrow.

Saturday – TUFC U18’s v BRS Coaching U18’s @ South Devon College (10.30 KO)

It may be bleak for the Men, but the U18’s continue to progress with a fine start to the season. 2 out of 2 in the league, and a FA Youth Cup 1st round to look forward too, it’s all rosy in the Camp as they host BRS.

Sunday – Bishops Lydeard v TUWFC @ Bishops Lydeard FC (14.00 KO)

After an excellent FA Cup win that show them progress to the first round proper, the Ladies’ return to league action away at BL.

PLAYED FOR BOTH

Danny Hollands is thwarted as somewhat of a legend at Eastleigh, and he made his mark in Yellow earlier on in his career, as he helped United strive off relegation in 2006, not withstanding that delightful chip against Stockport. The majestic Chris Todd is another who made an impressive 60+ appearances for both sides.

Former Gulls right-back Lee Canoville made a host of appearances at Plainmoor, before moving to Notts County, via Boston in 2007. Ex-Yellow Shaun Harrad started his career at Notts County.
