Manager: Tom Killick

Since he was appointed as Poole Town manager in the summer of 2004, Tom Killick has taken the Dolphins from the Wessex League to the National League South, before they were relegated back down to the Southern League South at the end of the 2018-19 season.

Under Killick’s reign the Dolphins have won promotion from the Wessex League Premier Division (in 2010-11), Southern League Division South and West (2012-13) and the Southern League Premier (2015-16). They also finished fifth in the National League South in the 2016-17 season, but were unable to compete in the division’s play-offs due to their Black Gold stadium home not meeting the minimum required number of seats to play in the National League.

Player to watch: Josh Carmichael

Any eagle-eyed Torquay United fans reading this piece may remember Josh Carmichael from the loan spell he spent at Plainmoor in the 2015-16 season from AFC Bournemouth. Carmichael made 14 appearances for the Gulls and scored once. Former Scotland youth international Carmichael had also had loan spells with Welling United and Gosport Borough (who he later joined permanently) before joining Weymouth. During his first stint at Gosport, he appeared in the FA Trophy final alongside former Gulls’ striker Tim Sills.
