A stoppage-time penalty from Danny Wright earned Torquay a slender victory over Bromley.
Wright kept his cool from 12 yards as he opened his account for the Gulls as they bounced back from Tuesday’s 2-1 loss at Eastleigh to condemn Bromley to their first defeat.
Bromley took the lead in the 17th minute when experienced defender Byron Webster – who played under United manager Gary Johnson at Yeovil – found the bottom corner from the edge of the box.
Torquay levelled just after the hour mark, Plymouth Argyle loanee Adam Randell firedl home following Ben Wynter’s pass with a shot from the edge of the penalty area, before Bromley goalkeeper Mark Cousins saved well from Kyle Cameron moments later.
Aaron Nemane headed an effort just wide for Torquay but Wright made no mistake from the spot to snatch a dramatic win for the visitors.

View from the Sofa by Sam Jones:
There are 4 games between us and a potential return to the Football League. After agent Mark Ellis helped Notts County to a stunning win over Sutton on Tuesday, the title is United’s to lose. We win four games, we win the title. Today’s game will be a tough one as Bromley are in very good form too, but these Gulls are special. A win today, and then a good result against Stockport and we’ll be on our way…
