Match Preview Q&A – Aldershot Town by Rhys Emberson
“I will be going with 1-1, with both teams to have an un-needed and unnecessary replay”
The match preview Q&A series continues, as Rhys Emberson discusses ‘The Shots’ ofAldershot Town:
Hi Rhys so Shots play United yet again! What was your reaction to the draw?
Negative reaction wasn’t happy because felt we could’ve done with someone lower down the pyramid.
Do you think your manager will be taking the Trophy seriously or is it an unwelcome distraction from the league?
When Danny hosted a meet the manager he explained he would be taking the trophy seriously, I believe as a club we have to.
How would you summarise your season so far?
Not the greatest but better than last season we’ve had some good wins but the 6-1 mauling by Dagenham was depressing.
What’s your highlights been up to this point?
Highlights so far are winning the Derby on matchday 2, the win up at Stockport and the win at home to Notts County.
How’s your recent form been heading into Saturday’s match at Plainmoor?
Bit indifferent we’ll go and play well beating Notts County but concede a late equaliser to Chesterfield. Topsy turvy but better than this stage last season.
Who’s your key players and why?
Key player/players as mentioned earlier in the season Ethan Chislett also Alfy Whittingham both play for the badge and for the club. Pay-wise Alfy is only on expenses.
How does your manager set the team up and are you expecting changes to the line-up for the cup tie?
We set up normally one up top and I expect our set-up to be no different on Saturday.
