Headlines:
6th May – Rowcroft Hospice Charity match sees ‘Compo’s Boys’ take on the 2004 Promotion Team @ Plainmoor – the likes of Kevin Hill, Guy Branston, Tom Kelly and Tony Bedeau turn up for a very worthwhile cause.
17th May – Ruairi Keating is one the first to commit to another season at United.
25 & 27th May – Luke Young and Sean McGinty both sign new deals to remain at Plainmoor.
1st June – Brett Williams decides his future lies elsewhere and ends up signing for Bromley.
13th June – Josh Gowling and Jon-Paul Pittman arrive at Plainmoor.
28th June – Torbay Council postpone any decision on TUFC purchasing the freehold of Plainmoor.
4th July – The new TUFC 2017-18 kits are revealed with the Nike swish prominent. The partnership with Pro:Direct at least hints at better deals being negotiated by the club.
12th July – TUFC 2-0 Bristol City – pre-season fixtures aren’t always a good indicator of what’s to come!
27th July – Ex-Argyle veteran striker and ice-cream salesman Rory Fallon joins the club, and fans are not impressed (rightly so)!

AUGUST
Headlines:

3rd – Josh Gowling is revealed as the new TUFC club captain.
5th – United start the season with 0-0 draw at home to Tranmere. The away team has two men sent-off in an ill-tempered second half.
15th – Boreham inflict a crushing 4-2 defeat on the Gulls, as the men in yellow slump to a 3rd successive defeat.
17th – United sack Kevin Nicholson only four games into the 2017-18 season. The Gulls legend departs with the team bottom of the table, and fans are divided on whether it is the right decision. It is a sad end to Nicho’s time as manager and no replacement is imminent as the club invite applications from anyone. Robbie Herrera is put in temporary charge.
28th – Woking thrash managerless United 4-1, to hand us a 6th straight defeat. Meanwhile Geoff Harrop assures fans that an appointment will be made, as soon as the right candidate is found.

Headlines:
2nd – Still no manager, but an improved performance sees us draw 1-1 with Chester – new loan midfielder George Dowling scoring on his debut.
12th – Brett Williams scores a hat-trick to consign United to a 3-1 defeat at Bromley.
14th & 16th – Gary Owers and Martin Kuhl are unveiled as the new Torquay United management team, and fans are generally unimpressed! Owers and Kuhl’s first match sees the Gulls lead for a long time at Barrow, but eventually draw 1-1.
17th – TULFC make their first appearance at Plainmoor and beat Bournemouth Ladies 1-0 in the FA Cup.
19 & 22nd – Owers brings in Rhys Murphy and Josh McQuoid on loan to bolster the side’s attacking options…
30th – Another late goal sees United defeated at Dagenham & Redbridge, as the new management duo get an idea of the size of the job at hand.

3rd – The first victory of the season finally arrives, as United blitz Maidenhead with four goals in a spectacular first half.
14th – Another year, another defeat in the 4th qualifying round of the FA Cup – Aldershot winning 1-0, with ex-Gull Scott Rendell inevitably scoring.
20th – Jamie Reid signs a permanent contract at the club, whilst James Gray joins York City on loan – a move that would soon become permanent.
24th – A Jamie Reid blockbuster earns United 3 points up at Ebbsfleet.

11th – After a min-break due to our Cup defeat, the boys lose 1-0 at home to Maidstone. Chance after chance are spurned in a one-sided second half.
19 & 26th – TULFC defeat Exeter City Ladies twice in succession, as the Ladies keep up their brilliant form.
24th – Ex-Marseille youngster Guy Gnabouyou gets his international clearance to join United, in the hope he will bring some goals to Plainmoor!
21st & 25th – At last a better week for United as they triumph against Sutton Away (1-0) and Leyton Orient Home (3-0). Ruairi scores for the first time in months and Sean McGinty is made captain.

Headlines:
2nd – United battle out a 0-0 draw with high-flyers Aldershot Town at Plainmoor.
9th – No joy for the lads up at Prenton Park, as Tranmere ease to a comfortable 3-0 win over a United side lacking cutting edge (again).
10th – Gulls legend Ian Twitchin passes away. One-club man Twitchin played over 400 games for United.
19th – Callum Evans, Josh McQuoid and Rhys Murphy all leave after their loan deals finish, Owers promises new recruits!
