“Dom caught up with TULFC Player-Manager Vicki Fannon to get her verdict on the month of November, another successful one for the unstoppable United ladies”
How has November been for TULFC?
The TULFC month of November has been a success with 4 games and 4 wins. We beat Keynsham 4-0, a hat-trick from Sian Chapman and the other from Daisy Self. Triumphed over tough opposition in Bishops Lydeard 3-2 – two from Chapman again and one from Steph Beck.
A 2-0 win over Devon rivals Exeter City followed – both goals from Daisy Self, this was a QF Cup match putting us into the Semi-Final of the Devon Women’s Senior Cup. Last but not least another win last Sunday over Exeter. 1-0 to TULFC, goal from Steph Beck. An incredibly tough game against a talented young Exeter City Ladies team. Patience was key.
Highlights of the month?
Highlights are getting to the Cup Semi-Final and generally just watching the team go from strength to strength.
The Bishops Lydeard match was the toughest opposition we have faced so far and at half time we were 2-1 down. The unity and togetherness we showed to win the game was a really proud moment.
Which players have stood out for you?
Plenty of players have stood out for me, I’m incredibly proud of all the girls.
Skipper Alex Sheppard has been an influential and courageous captain, leading by example on and off the pitch. Daisy Self has continued to impress me with her energy and ability to score goals from midfield and she is now on 8 goals. Sian Chapman has scored 10 goals in 9 games and is showing how good she really is in her link up play with Steph Beck.
Goal of the Month?
Goal of the month for me was Sian’s winning goal vs Bishops Lydeard. A powerful strike from long range giving their keeper no chance.
Up Next for TULFC?
Now our focus is on the league, our aim is to keep winning obviously, keep working hard and keep doing what we are doing.
In terms of the Devon Women’s Senior Cup, our Semi-Final is on Sunday 21st January at home against Plympton Ladies.
