TT #TUFC Player Ratings September 17

Ed @DomRoman uses the TT Match Verdicts from our various contributors, to work out who has been the pick of the #TUFC bunch in the month that was September – and no the competition is not fierce!

No.

September TT Rating

MOTM

1

George Dowling – Player of the Month

7.8

2

Dowling arrived from Bristol City and instantly made an impact with style and swagger on the ball, plus a cracker at home to Chester. He also has a ‘football brain’ – understanding where to go around the pitch to support colleagues, not a trait we have in abundance! Come back soon George.

2

Chinua Cole

7.8

1

To put it simply left back Chinua was unlucky to be released and his rating backs that up, after some very solid performances in a poor football team. He didn’t look overly comfortable getting forward, but defensively Cole did a more than adequate job. Hopefully his chance will come elsewhere.

3

Josh Gowling

7.3

0

The captain came back to steady the ship and has been reassuringly solid, which is a difficult thing to manage when you are surrounded with the chaos created by Myles (bottom of this list again) and Sean. As McGinty struggles for form, he needs to take a leaf out of Josh’s book and do not panic!

4

Vincent Dorel

7

1

As panic loan market emergency goalkeepers go, Vincent is proving a very wise choice; no qualms with anything he’s done so far and he deserves longer in the role. The test of confidence will come after a mistake creeps in, let’s hope he’s not due one any time soon….

5

Michee Efete

6.7

0

The Norwich City loan man is definitely a prospect for the future. Built powerfully, he looks more like a centre back in stature, but is happy to push forward at full back (and brush past some challenges!).

Luke Young

TT VIEWS

Young George is a deserving winner of the POTM award, simply a class act in a lacklustre midfield until injury struck him as well! Honourable mentions to Cole, Gowling and Dorel who scored 7 or above.

In fact the top 5 features four new players brought in since the start of the season, a clear indication of how bad the existing contracted bunch have been.

In another glum month ratings have been unsurprisingly low, with Michee in the top-5 despite a modest rating of 6.7. Myles is bottom of the class again this month, and even though he did look marginally better back at centre back – that nightmare V Macclesfield sealed his fate!

We await better in October when the TT team will be handing out 8s’ and 9s’ like they have been going out of fashion, as Owers boys find their winning ways at last – well I can dream can’t I?!
