Why TUFC?: Growing up in Totnes, I thought I’d be sensible and support the team 8 miles down the road. Came back to bite me in secondary school when Argyle were in the Championship and I’d get endless stick about being in the Conference! Oh how I enjoyed the double over them in the 11/12 season, more on that later on…
Year started supported TUFC and 1st game?: My first game at Plainmoor was when I was about 7 years old – I have no idea who it was against, though. My primary school was part of United’s Football in the Community, run at the time by Frank Prince. Ever since that game I’ve been hooked!
Favourite all-time TUFC players?: My earliest memories are of Neville Southall in goal, what a man-mountain he was! Obviously loved the promotion team of 03/04. Alex Russell, Jason Fowler, David Graham et al were all brilliant. In more recent times I’d have to pick out Eunan O’Kane, and from this season, Kalvin Kalala!
Best TUFC memory?: It’s hard to narrow down to just the one memory. Winning away at Argyle in the 11/12 season and completing the double over them was fantastic. Have to say, the win at Dover at couple of years ago that pretty much secured our safety in the National League was a highlight. Despite everything though, the feeling I get whenever I hear Children by Robert Miles playing on the radio is a good enough for me.
Worst TUFC memory?: Where do I start…? It would probably have to be Boreham Wood away last season. So abject, we just didn’t offer anything and it was humiliating. It felt like the club was on the edge of oblivion.
Favourite spot at Plainmoor?: When I was a kid, my dad used to take me and brother to the Family Stand, so that will always resonate with me. For a long time though, it’s been the right of the steps in the Popside. I like being at our attacking end for the second half, and as we traditionally kick to the away end in the first 45, that’s where I always go!
