I’ll get the cliché clang out of the way immediately, if you’d have offered me that point before kick-off, I’d have bitten your hand off. Make no mistake, Barrow, as always, is a tough place to go – I did actually predict we would go one further today and secure the win, we were so close, but it wasn’t to be.

Match Summary A frustrating performance from the Gulls. It was written in the stars that ex-gull Brett Williams would play a part in the result, and his hat-trick was enough to condemn us to another defeat. The most annoying part is that the team didn’t play that badly. A lack of quality in the final […]

Match Summary: A game of few chances but nonetheless a very well deserved point against a Wrexham side riding high in the National League table.  I have to admit before the game I had predicted a loss for the Gulls, but much like the Chester game we showed great character and guile to gain a […]

Match Summary: Well I asked for more heart and pride from those wearing yellow today, and I got it. A make-shift United team, buoyed by excellent performances from our three new loanees, showed more determination and skill than we’ve seen since April. We do everything but take chances to kill the game off, especially in […]

Ed @DomRoman analyses the player performances (or lack of) from August 17, which includes predictably low TT player ratings for the manager-less Gulls…. Match summary Well how do you summarise the performance today? Men v Boys springs to mind. There are some decent players in this team, who occasionally show glimpses of what they can do. However, time and time again the lads look like they met each other ten minutes before kick-off and have been thrown on […]

Summary: How many ways can Torquay United contrive to lose a match? It turns out lots, as despite having many more chances than the away team, its nil points once more. A dire bottom of the table first half scrap sees us slightly on top, but with nothing to show for it. Then the start of […]
