TT PREVIEW

James discusses the Stones
SEASON SO FAR
Our form is pretty good at the moment. Unfortunately we had a postponement last weekend. And this weekend didn’t play as Weston Super Mare were involved in the FA Cup. So even though we had a mid-season friendly, I hope we haven’t lost that drive and consistency.
UNITED’S BOGEY TEAM
If I’m honest, Maidstone always perform well against good sides. Look at the Ipswich cup tie for example. But throughout our history we have played really well against great teams and not done so well against not so good teams. So for Torquay, you have to see it as a positive, that you are a big team. I also think playing at your ground is great as it is such a great facility for our level and all players want to perform to their best.
KEY PLAYERS
Riley Court is a great up and coming player. We have Antony Papadopoulos who’s back for another loan from Crawley, who is an amazing addition to the squad. We just resigned Muhammadu Faal which is a great addition.
PROMOTION CHANCES
I think it’s going to be hard. This league and the league above is so hard to get out of. It’s such a leap up to the National League too. It’s a possibility, and I think we all want us to be playing at the highest level. But we are realistic. If it happens, fantastic, if not, it’s a great league to be involved in and hopefully we can do it in the coming seasons.
HIGHLIGHTS
I suppose beating Dover 1.0 Boxing Day. We have struggled with Kent derbies in recent years, so to win against them was great.
AWAY FOLLOWING
Not sure. I hope at least a 100. I’m down for the Saturday night so hope to see you all pre-match at Boots and Laces. And post match there also. And maybe in the town in the evening regardless of the score. It’s always a great occasion down in Torquay and I for one can’t wait.
BEST OPPOSITION
It’s hard as I would have said Hornchurch from the table. But they weren’t the best against us. I mean Enfield absolutely outplayed us. We were awful that night. But that takes nothing away from them, they stuck to their plan and executed it perfectly. It’s a tough league full of great teams all the way down to the bottom.
PREDICTION
I for once, am going against Maidstone. As you say we always seem to do well against you. It’s got to end at some point. I’m going for a 3.2 Torquay thriller. But hope for a great game. And hope to have a beer as always with your fans.
