TT PREVIEW

Tommy discusses the Beavers
SEASON SO FAR
Very mixed bag. We started superbly, then after the draw with you, he didn’t collect a point at home for 3 months. Into the bottom 4 but with some fairly big games in hand.
JULIAN DEPARTURE
Results hastened his departure. We went on another long streak where we didn’t collect wins or points. Knocked out of the trophy by a team 2 leagues below, it just wasn’t working.
UPTURN IN FORM
We’ve had an upturn since Jules departed. Our senior players took charge of a victory against Totton, and since Dowse returned we have had 1 Win, 1 Draw and 1 Loss.
We were scheduled to play Enfield on 6th Jan, but it was postponed, so we haven’t played a game since Boxing Day.
KEY PLAYERS
The returning Brendan Kiernan and Max Kretzchmar who both bring quality and experience to the side. Our centre back pairing of a youthful Ben Jackson and Alan Massey has been really impressive, with 2 back to back clean sheets before Saturday.
BEST OPPOSITION
Despite being poor for long periods, I’ve been fairly unimpressed with some of the teams near the top of the league, a bit like last season. However there is one real outlier in Worthing who played us off of the park.
DOWSON TACTICS
Still new under Dowse, but his better teams have exciting wingers and an exciting front 4. We thrive on one-on-ones and this will be the way I would imagine we play.
POSSIBLE LINE-UP
In a 4-2-3-1
GK Rowley, LB Sayers, CB Massey & Jackson, RB Lacey, CM Deadfield & Gardner, LW Kiernan, CAM Kretzchmar, RW Fasanmade, ST Dixon
HIGHLIGHTS
Wins away at Merthyr, Dorking and Chesham still superb.
STAYING UP?
Yes, I think there are 4 worse teams than us, we just have to win probably 9 games from now which is more than achievable. A tough run ahead with yourselves, Worthing and Dorking in the next few weeks but if we can nick anything that would really help us.
AWAY SUPPORT
I’d expect it to be fairly similar to the pittance we brought last season. We have had better away support recently with around 150 at Farnborough which is superb for us, but expect to see a fairly empty away end!
PREDICTION
0-0 We’ve been defensively solid, and can easily keep a clean sheet. But Plainmoor is always a tough place to go as a travelling side so not sure if we’ll get a winner!
See you Saturday! Come on You Beavers!!!
