TT PREVIEW

Steven discusses his team
SEASON SO FAR
It’s not met expectations. I think it’s fair to say all we wanted was to avoid a relegation scrap and have a Cup run. We’ve found ourselves in a relegation scrap and without a Cup run. The FA Cup exit at Wimborne might be forgotten if we do well in the Trophy, but it would have to be one hell of a run for us to forget our first 2QR exit since 2006. We’ve also suffered our first defeat away at Chippenham since 2005 and they are very much unwanted records that Darren Way has overseen.
RECENT FORM
We had a fantastic win at Dorking in the Trophy (on pens, but despite what Marc White says, we were the better side). And we followed that up with a great and convincing win at home to Salisbury. But, losing at Chippenham after equalising 90+1 will sit very uncomfortably with City fans so who knows what that means for Tuesday.
HIGHLIGHTS
Tough to say. There have been few. Probably the Dorking win on pens.
KEY PLAYERS
Charlie Binns arrived on non contract terms to rival Harvey Wiles-Richards in goal. He’s been key to our two penalty shoot out victories in the Trophy. We seem to give away a lot of penalties so I’d like to see him start on Tuesday. Harry Pell has played approx 120 mins over two games after signing from Cheltenham earlier this month, but we’re unlikely to see him again after an injury sustained on Boxing Day.
The main man for us at the moment, however, is Owen Windsor who has 7 goals in 10 games (all comps) since signing.
THE CROWD
Hoping for approx 2,500+ but with it being a Tuesday it’s a tough call.
THE MANAGER
I like Darren. Last year he saved us from relegation. He’s doing his best to make the squad his own; navigating between a tight budget and players from the Jerry-era on two year deals. I think the summer will be key and we can really judge him when he puts ‘his’ squad together.
POSSIBLE LINE-UP
Harvey Wiles-Richards
Joe Raynes
Kieran Parselle
Jack Batten
Danny Greenslade
Jordan Tillson
Luke Russe
Matt Bowman
Jordan Alves
Brad Ash
Owen Windsor
PRE-MATCH
I’d recommend the City centre for pretty much anything you want and then taxi or number 5 bus to the ground.
BEST OPPOSITION
I am an exile now and live 220 miles north of Bath, so I don’t go to every game. But I did go to Weston away and felt they did the basics brilliantly, without looking amazing. From the other games I’ve seen, nobody has blown me away, though.
PREDICTION
0-3. Jordan Young x 2 and Cody Cooke.
