TT PREVIEW

James discusses his team
SEASON SO FAR
Ups and downs really. Inconsistent. Some really good spells and some quite terrible spells. So quite frustrating really.
RECENT FORM
We lost two Kent Derbies in a row. Then we beat Chippenham 3.0 convincingly, being 3.0 up at half time. Then just cruised through the second half.
THE FA TROPHY
I think it’s an incredible competition for teams like Maidstone to be able to have a day out at Wembley. Of course you can have big days out in the FA Cup, and that can be more financially rewarding, but there is no chance of a team like Maidstone or Torquay winning it with all respect. So the FA Trophy is a great opportunity not just for a day out to Wembley but a massive chance for some serious silverware.
KEY PLAYERS
We signed John Gilbert from Slough in the summer and he has had a great impact in the team scoring goals. Riley Court is arguably one of our most talented players. He’s come up the ranks and is still waiting for his moment to be a first team regular but is a threat when he comes on from the bench.
THE MANAGER
I’ve always loved George Elokobi, he has a great coaching team and is great at getting the best out of the players. So yes, he can take us up. But it’s a strong league so only time will tell.
POSSIBLE LINE-UP
Not sure on the line up. I hope he goes strong as I said above it’s a competition where we have a strong chance to get to Wembley. I think he will go strong and respect the competition and opponents.
BEST OPPOSITION
Hard to say really. I don’t think we have been completely outplayed at any time and if we have lost convincingly, it’s down to us not being on form. So no one stands out. I thought Dagenham would be up there, they weren’t great.
PREDICTION
Think it’s going to be a really close game. And I usually sit on the fence on this question, today I’m not. I’m going for a 2.1 Maidstone win. But I hope it’s a great game and a great occasion between two great sets of fans!
