Joe looks at who the Gulls could sign this summer
RUBEN CARVALHO – WINGER
The fleet footed wide man spent the second half of last season at Worthing on loan from Maidenhead, making 7 starts, with a further 9 substitute appearances. A modest one goal return but he did help himself to five assists and at 19 there is plenty of time for development. It’s likely Maidenhead will bring him in to their first team picture having suffered relegation but this may be another pacy option for the left wing.

MATT WORTHINGTON – MIDFIELD
A potential new captain for the club, Worthington would tick a lot of boxes for what Paul Wotton is looking for on the pitch this season. Southampton born and someone who has played majority of his football at Southern clubs, Worthington left Yeovil for Oldham Athletic in January after an apparent fall out with Mark Cooper. Since the move he’s struggled for minutes for the Latics starting only three games, with a further six substitute appearances, and after their promotion to the EFL will surely be surplus to requirements. As well as leadership, Worthington also brings versatility, being able to slot in at Right Back as well as Central Midfield.

CALLUM DOLAN – MIDFIELD
If you can’t beat them join them! Social media has been awash with this rumour for the last week or so. Dolan enjoyed a positive loan at Plainmoor in the season before last scoring once in a five game spell, as United took advantage of the Johnson Family nepotism which provided GJ with many a quality loanee from his son over the years. An exciting attacking midfield player who likes to get on the ball and makes things happen, Dolan again ticks a lot of boxes for PW, and despite playing a lot of his recent football in the EFL and NL is no stranger to regionalised football having spent the early part of his career at the likes of Radcliffe, Stockport Town, Matlock Town & Warrington Rylands. It remains to be seen whether he wishes to relocate permanently down to the South-West, but if he does this could be a real coup!

OLUFELA OLOMOLA – WINGER
The strong winger finds himself a free agent this summer, having been released by Bromley. He’s no stranger to the South West having spent three seperate loan spells at Yeovil, and will certainly be dropping into NL/NLS to find regular football this summer. Perhaps Louis Dennis can put in a good word for us and tempt his former team-mate down to Plainmoor with him later this summer.
