THE PLAYERS
JAMES HAMON – “Devastated about how this season has finished. It’s going to take a whilst to get over that’s for sure. It doesn’t feel like it now but once the dust has settled we will be able to look back and realise at how great this season has been. Thank you for your support”
JORDAN DYER – “Gutted. Not the way we wanted this season to end. Tough pill to swallow. Time to rest, reflect and learn from this experience. So many highs to use as fuel. It’s an honour to play for this incredible club. The support every week has been class. Onwards and upwards”
JAY FOULSTON – “Heartbreak yesterday, Highs & lows of football! Just wanna thank the fans for the support throughout the season & sorry we couldn’t do it for you, devastated. Just weren’t our day in the end! We will be back better & stronger next season! Yellow army”
DAN HAYFIELD – “Absolutely gutted we couldn’t get the result the club and the fans deserved yesterday. Thank you to everyone for all of their support this season, it’s been a pleasure to wear the shirt”
JORDAN YOUNG – “Still devastated about yesterday, hasn’t really sunk in, gave it everything but ultimately fell short, proud of the journey we’ve been on this year. Want to say a massive thankyou to all the fans you’ve been amazing”
ED PALMER – “Gutted to say the least, to have come so close and fall short hurts! I have been super proud to wear the Torquay shirt this season and the support has been nothing short of incredible!!! Enjoy your summer yellows”
PRESS
PAUL MULHERN – “Gutted for @TUFC1899 but it’s overshadowed by the pride of seeing this great club on the rise. Everyone gave their all on and off the park and there’s still lots to look forward to. It’s only year 1 of a long term project. Stay strong #yellowarmy you did your club proud”
HARRY SALVIDGE – “Another fantastic season has come to end. Thank you to all those who gave me the opportunity to cover some fantastic clubs and to all those who tuned in and supported me this season. Off for a busy summer before we do it all again”
TT CONTRIBUTORS
DAN ELLIOTT – “So the season didn’t end how we want it to. To quote the great @ericprydz The end is only the beginning This squad, these owners and this staff care and so do we! We all have each other, 12 months we nearly had nothing! Enjoy the summer! See you soon”
THOMAS KELLY – Torquay United go again next season. We nearly didn’t get that chance last season. It hurts now but we have our club back and quite honestly that’ll do just fine for me. You are my Torquay, my only Torquay. Roll on the NLS 25/26 tour! #TUFC WE GO AGAIN!
RACHEL MALLOCH – “Big games warrant big performances and sadly too many players just didn’t perform well enough today. huge crowd, great atmosphere, plenty family, friends and so lovely to see me ol mucker Helen La HellsBells, all said and done, we just weren’t quite good enough. reset. COYY”
ALAN WILLS – “Boreham (H) – Despite having the dubious honour of being present at all ten defeats this season, this didn’t feel like the worst one. Proud of everyone connected with our club, in the first year of this new era!”
SAM SWANN – “It will hurt for some time that we didn’t go up after the season we had. Boreham Wood deserved the win today. However, I couldn’t be prouder of the club and community. Despite the ending, it’s been a season of so many amazing memories. See you all in August”
DOM ROMAN – “No complaints, Wood the better team today. Clear that midfield needs improvement in the summer, but overall @tufc1899 should be proud of the last year and how the club has evolved. Next year = Champions”
YELLOW ARMY
MAX COCHRAN – “Am I still disappointed about yesterday? Of course, But I’ve learned to love this league! Not a single club which I have bad words for Every club is unique in the division which I love, bring it on!”
CHARLIE BAKER – “A huge thank you to the Bryn Consortium for saving @TUFC1899 and for beginning to build something special with strong foundations and a complete understanding of who we are. Because of them the football league is once again in our future. Torquay United”
MICHAEL COY – “Really frustrating performance for such an important game & occasion, so disappointed to be in this league again next year. Positives – We still exist, fans fully on board again, 3,800 average attendance, in love with the Bryn consortium, roll on next season”
JAMIE – “Today was of course disappointing It wasn’t our day But this time last year, we genuinely thought we may not have a club. One year. Finished second It’s been amazing That’s progress. Love this club. Love the owners. Love United. We go again”
MATT WINSTANLEY – “To finish 2nd to go and lose the play offs really hurts but the main thing is we have our club back, we have owners that care about us, and players that want to play for the badge, could see how devastated they all were yesterday, but we move on! Onwards & upwards, Yellows!”
LEE CLOKE – “We have a club in good hands and that’s enough for me from this season. At the start of the season I said I’d be happy with top 10 and anything else was a bonus. Kind of felt like it was a year too soon to be going up but it has to be our aim to go and win it next season!”
HARRISON THORNE – “I thought we were really poor, no creativity, no quality going forward. The atmosphere was so flat for nearly 6000, getting excited for a corner in the 98th min and a pea roller was the best it got. BW miles better, pace and a game plan, we have to be better but we go again”
PHIL SWANN – “Beaten by the better team today and Hamon’s heroics kept us in the game. Apart from our solid defence, a midfield and attack were disappointing all game. Needed more from experienced players like Jay and Threlkeld who didn’t really show up”
JAMES HUBBARD – “Disappointed with the season’s outcome, however we are now a proper club, with owners who are passionate about it, and I’ll take that any day of the week. The club has pride. Given where we were 12 months ago, I’m delighted”
CRAIG HUGHES – “A bit gutted for sure but extremely proud of the club. We have our club back. We have made great strides on and off the pitch this season. We go again next season. Paul Wottons Yellow Army”
BARNABY NICKELS – “Naturally deflated, but overall a brilliant season. Everyone (staff, players, supporters, owners) can be extremely proud of how far we’ve come. We didn’t do ourselves justice today, but that’s football. BW deserved to win, and I hope they go up”
