TT PREVIEW

Sam discusses his team
SEASON SO FAR
The season so far has been good, can’t ask for much more than the league position we are in now with games in hand. After having so many away matches to start, our home form will be key for the run in.
RECENT FORM
Recent form you can’t argue with, incredible team spirit and fighting until the end in games. Almost took Rochdale to extra time in the trophy amongst a lot of league wins.
STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES
We’ve strengthened the defence with the signing of Partington who has been solid. Sam Beard has been our player of the season so far in my opinion. Exciting attacking team with the likes of Cashman, Faal, Wheeler. We are also very good at coming back into games after slow starts which I’d say is a downfall at times.
HIGHLIGHTS
A recent highlight was the win against Boreham Wood at home and Carvalho’s winner. Also beating them away as well as the 5-1 win vs Torquay in the FA Trophy (sorry!).
KEY PLAYERS
For me Jack Spong always runs the midfield and keeps the game ticking and as mentioned in an earlier answer Sam Beard. His tenacity in the tackle is unmatched.
THE MANAGER
Aggy is always upfront and honest. Super passionate manager and has followed on the excellent work Hinsh did. Shrewd signings and great squad building, and isn’t afraid to make a big in game decision.
PRE-MATCH
Brooksteed is a favourite micro pub. The Railway by the train station, neither too far to walk from Woodside if you travel by coach. Town probably too far for a midweek, although the club bar does do a happy hour.
ATTENDANCE
Imagine 1,500+ (Although pushing the 2k mark is possible).
BEST OPPOSITION
Rochdale were very good in our recent FA Trophy game. In terms of the NLS, Maidstone and Boreham Wood probably our toughest opponents alongside you guys.
PREDICTION
I don’t like to predict Worthing games but our strong home form should hopefully see us through. Although in the circumstances I’d absolutely take a draw with the amount of games in hand we have and how tough of an opponent you will be.
