THE MANAGER – ALAN JULIAN
Former Northern Ireland Under-21 international goalkeeper Alan Julian was appointed as manager of the Beavers in the summer following the departure of Mel Gwinnett. Julian started his playing career with Brentford before making his name with Stevenage and Gillingham before taking in spells with Dartford, Bromley, Sutton United and Billericay Town before finishing his career at the Beveree.
PLAYER TO WATCH – MAURO VILHETE
Mauro Vilhete returned for his second spell with the Beavers in August 2024 following a short, but impressive dual registration spell from Wingate & Finchley in 2021-22. Vilhete started his career with Barnet and became Barnet’s youngest ever Football League player aged 16 in May 2010 before going on to make 199 league appearances for the Bees scoring 19 times, in League Two and the National League and was part of their National League title in 2015. After Barnet, Mauro has appeared for Wingate & Finchley, Dagenham & Redbridge, Southend United and Hornchurch. The Portugal-born São Tomé and Príncipe international joined Alan Julian’s team on a permanent basis after helping Hornchurch win the Isthmian League Premier title in 2023-24.
