TT PREVIEW

Peter discusses his team
SEASON SO FAR
It’s been an interesting start. We’ve had our ups and downs, but that’s to be expected with a new manager and a largely new squad. It always takes a bit of time to settle in.
RECENT FORM
Our recent form has been good. We’ve been fortunate to have quite a few home matches, which has certainly helped us pick up points.
HIGHLIGHTS
I’d have to say our opening day at Weston-super-Mare. Coming back from 3-0 down and winning with a stoppage-time penalty was a special moment—definitely one of those games you never forget.
KEY PLAYERS
We have several important players throughout the team. At the back, Partington has looked solid since he joined, and Sam Beard has probably been our standout performer so far—he’s always looking to get forward and contribute. Losing Kane Wills was a blow to the midfield, but we have plenty of attacking threats in Cashman, Spong, Wheeler, and Faal. Any one of them only needs a moment in a game to turn it on its head.
THE MANAGER
Chris, or “Aggy” as we call him, is very studious and meticulous when it comes to tactics. He joined with a brief to play possession-based, attacking football, and so far, he’s implemented that philosophy effectively.
POSSIBLE LINE-UP
With this game coming just three days after a tough encounter against Eastbourne, there might be a bit of rotation. However, I’m sure the main protagonists will still be involved.
PRE-MATCH
I’d always encourage everyone to use the club’s facilities, but if you’re looking for variety, the town centre is only about ten minutes away. There are plenty of pubs and bars to suit every taste.
CROWD NUMBERS
That’s a good question. With it being right after the festive period and given the distance for Torquay supporters, it’s tough to say for certain. However, if we can replicate the crowd of around 1,800 we had on New Year’s Day, it should create a great atmosphere.
PROMOTION CHANCES?
Yes, I do fancy our chances. It’s going to be tough because there are some strong full-time teams in the mix—Torquay included—but I’m optimistic we can stay in contention as the season unfolds.
PREDICTION
If we can replicate the performance we produced when we visited your place earlier in the season, I believe we have a good chance of securing a positive result.
