TT PREVIEW

James talks about the Wanderers
SUMMER & PRE-SEASON
The summer was ok I guess. New signings Brennan Camp, Jordan Norville-Williams, Harrison Foulkes and Rhys Murphy came in early and then played a part in pre-season. Pre-season was ok – as with any a lot of the games became fragmented due to multiple subs etc but the team looked fit and sharper than perhaps in previous years.
BOUNCING BACK?
Yes but it won’t be easy. This is a tough league with the bottleneck at the top around the playoffs. Obviously there is a long way to go having only played three – one of which last evening was Boreham Wood in the 2-2 which was a very tough game.
START TO THE SEASON
The start has been tricky but we are unbeaten so far with 7 out of 9 points before playing you. The Truro away game opening day was a real banana skin which we did well to come away with a win. Backing that up with the win the following week and then last nights draw sets this up nicely. However, after this game they come thick and fast for a few weeks which is really interesting.
KEY PLAYERS
Key players are I would say Alfie Rutherford in attack, Charlie Carter in midfield and probably George Francomb in defence. Alfie is back from his well documented injury and heart operation and scored the only goal last week against Chippenham. Carter is one of the division’s stand out players when he is on form and Francomb has football league experience and has had a strong start to the season.
TACTICS/LINE-UP
The team has been set up in the standard 3-5-2 which Marc favours. At the moment predicting the team is tricky due to the injuries suffered last night. I would go with Foulkes, Camp, Craig. Francomb. Muitt, Carter, Taylor, Pybus. Bowerman, Prior, Rutherford.
PROMOTION CONTENDERS
This is a very tricky question to answer. Having seen Boreham Wood last night, they will be right up there. Perhaps us, them, yourselves, Farnborough. Maidstone and Worthing will be contenders in play-off places.
AWAY SUPPORT
Hopefully a good number – there is a coach running and we’ve done one south west trip so far so hopefully some more make this one – as the previous one was a hastily arranged Wednesday evening game.
STRENGTHS/WEAKNESSES
Strengths are the crosses, balls into the box and possession play. Weaknesses possibly just our physicality and strength at times.
PREDICTION
Prediction – I am going for a 1-0 away win with the goal from Carter.
