SEASON START

A 1-0 loss away at Boreham Wood and a 1-0 win at home to Welling have started our season. We are plagued with some awkward injuries and as a result the bench is smaller than expected, but the Welling performance was very encouraging and a great sign of things to come.

HOPES & EXPECTATIONS FOR 24/25

The league is so tough but if Bath can get in the play-offs again, that would be deemed a success.

KEY PLAYERS

Ewan Clarke. So tricky and can get us up the pitch so fast. Harvey Wiles-Richards (GK). His distribution is great. Ben Morgan at CB has performed superbly in the first two games, winning a lot of duels in the air.

THE MANAGER

Jerry Gill has put together another very good squad and one that’s probably better (overall) than last year. It’s probably a bit too early to talk about precise tactics and with a tougher midfield things might look slightly different to last year.

NOTABLE SUMMER SIGNINGS

Latrell Humphrey-Ewers from Oxford City and Sol Wanju-Smith from Maidstone, also ex-Torquay and Yeovil striker Alex Fisher.

PROMOTION CONTENDERS

Boreham Wood and Dorking are the obvious names (and probably for good reason). It’ll be interesting to see how Worthing perform after losing key goal-scorers (not that it’s stopped them scoring freely in their first two outings).

PRE-MATCH REFRESHMENTS

Tough to say for a midweek game. The Old Crown on the High St is usually very accommodating of away fans. If anybody is in the city centre before the game then the sports bar adjacent to Bath Spa station is a safe bet. Very close to the bus station/taxi rank to get to Twerton Pk. I’d also recommend Flan O’Briens.

HAYFIELD, DYER & COOKE

Hayfield stayed fit and did a good job covering at RB when not playing CM. Cooke was pretty reliable from the spot and scored some great goals for us. Dyer was a solid CB and chipped in with a few goals from set pieces too.
