OPPOSITION Q&A

Lewis discusses the Iron
SEASON SUMMARY
Our season so far started slow, but has recently picked up with going unbeaten in our last five league games. And training and signings have been top drawer recently as well.
FORM
Last five games unbeaten with last home loss on Boxing Day.
HIGHLIGHTS
Scoring four goals in three consecutive home games in November (Havant, St Albans & Welling).
KEY PLAYERS
Reggie Lambe – just a special player who knows the ball and pitch inside out, Joe Grimwood – solid defender who won’t back down from any challenge, on the floor or in the air, Aaron Blair – pace, skills, accuracy, all the great attributes of himself as the the great forward he is.
TACTICS
A very attacking formation with the wing backs almost always overlapping the wingers who play quite wide, keeping the ball on the floor and using the players technical ability to the teams advantage.
LINE-UP
Sims – Davies, Grimwood, Tompkins, Baris (left to right) – Lambe, Payne – Miccio, Blair, Blackwell – Pavey.
PRE-MATCH REFRESHMENTS
The Orange Tree pub around the corner or the clubhouse.
PLAY-OFF POSSIBILITIES
Definitely we can, we have a few games in hand on the teams above us and some fairly easy looking games coming up and good form. I don’t see why we can’t go one better than last season.
BEST OPPOSITION
Chippenham away last week. Despite being mid-table and struggling, they only lacked a goal. Counter led really well and defended really well. I was genuinely scared when they attacked as they had so many chances but just couldn’t put the ball in the back of the net.
PREDICTION
Home win, Braintree 2 – 1 Torquay.
