TT INTERVIEW

Louis talks about the Clarets
SEASON SO FAR
Brief Summary of the season… where do I begin, a tale of two tapes… away form, best in the league, but the home form not so much. The start to the season was phenomenal, going unbeaten until September where we eventually were knocked down by Hemel Hempstead, that loss spiralled into a number of poor performances, dropping us into mid-table.
RECENT FORM
In terms of recent form, we’ve picked up some superb away wins, such as Bath, Oxford City, Dartford & Aveley but the home form has really given us some horror shows including a loss at home to Truro, & draws to Chippenham, Dover & Taunton.
HIGHLIGHTS
Some fantastic away days, a last minute away win at Welling, comeback win at Bath with 10 men, a famous point at Yeovil, a mauling at Weymouth & another win down at Princes Park.
KEY PLAYERS
Luke Jenkins, a colossus ball playing defender, a young player who’s only 21, but plays like he’s done it at the level for years. A real assured player who’s destined for the National League next season. Freddie Hockey – an extremely young talent, just 18, who’s really starting to set his marker in the league. He’s only just come into side on a regular basis & has already got 5 goals in all competitions upfront. Finley Barbrook – on loan from the tractor boys, at just 19 Finley has looked superb & is a real matured position playing in midfield or in defence.
STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES
Strengths- the teams energy & work rate, we have an extremely young side & they run their absolute socks off. Jermaine Francis setting the example, whilst the game management is not always set up right, the work rate is superb. Weaknesses – the discipline in our team has been woeful, constant red cards costing us for a very long time now.
PLAY-OFF CHANCES
I do fancy us to get the play-offs, we have an extremely young talented side & think we will really push on 2nd half of the season. I’m predicting us to be around 5th/6th this season.
THE CROWD
In terms of crowd, I’m not expecting high numbers. The home performances this season have been lacklustre & does not correlate in the £16 being charged to come in the gate. I’m expecting a gate of 900.
PRE-MATCH REFRESHMENTS
Pre-Match Refreshments – there’s a pub right outside the ground, which will have all the sports on & a bit of pool/darts. In the city centre there is of course your Wetherspoons & usual city pubs.
BEST OPPOSITION
St Albans & Yeovil. Both play very good style of football.
PREDICTION
Chelmsford 1-2 Torquay.
