ABOUT ME

Hi. My name is Rich and I’m the head commentator of Peacocks Radio for Taunton Town. I’ve been a fan since I was 8 years old back in 1998.

RECENT FORM

Our form recently has been a bit up and down. After being top of the league earlier in the season, we have dipped recently and went a month without a win. A great 4-0 win last week was followed by one of the worst of the season away to Havant at the weekend.

HIGHLIGHTS

Highlights of the season so far is going top of the table and seeing us perform brilliantly away at Tonbridge. Best performance I’ve seen this season.

KEY PLAYERS

Key players for us are Austen Booth. A centre back who joined in the summer. Has been a rock at the back alongside captain Nick Grimes. Another to look out for is Ollie Chamberlain. If you were to cut this boy open, he would bleed claret and blue. One of the first names on the team sheet.

THE MANAGER

Rob Dray has a very successful spell as manager by guiding the club to the National League South for the 1st time in the clubs history. Some fans aren’t happy with Rob’s style of play of 3-5-2. Some say they he lacks a plan b. But with a small squad and financial restrictions, he’s doing his best with what he has.

THE LINE-UP

Likely line-up will be Lavercombe, Booth, Ball, Grimes, Chamberlain, Smith, Lucas, James, Morgan, Stearn and Jarvis.

Pre-match refreshments? Well the town centre is only a short walk away. There’s also plenty of fish and chip shops around. One I recommend is Star Fish bar on Eastleigh Road. Google it, short walk from the ground. Highly recommend!

NOTES ON THE PEACOCKS

We’ve been to cup finals in our history. The FA Vase. Losing at Wembley in 94 before finally getting hands on silverware in 2001 with a 2-1 win over Berkhampsted at Villa Park.
