TT INTERVIEW

Asa talks about the Robins
ABOUT ME
I have been going over 30 years now. My dad, who used to play for Frome years ago, would get my mum to drive us to all the games and I grew to love it and have continued going ever since. I love the buzz and banter of non league.
RECENT FORM
Really good. We are currently 3rd in the league with games in hand and we have gone the furthest in the FA Cup and FA Trophy out of the teams in our league.
HIGHLIGHTS
Beating Worthing in the last round is up there, as is beating Plymouth Parkway in the FA Cup, but beating local rivals Paulton 2-7 away in the league was the best one so far for me.
KEY PLAYERS
Star man Jon Davies, who most people in the non league scene know about, is an absolute joy to watch when he turns it on and we’re lucky that he has turned down several offers over the years from higher up to remain loyal. Captain Sam Teale is in his 9th season with us and is a solid leader and very vocal at the back. If you get a penalty Kyle Phillips is a bit of a hero at saving them.
THE MANAGER
Danny Greaves is in his 5th season with us now after joining from local side Bradford Town. Lots of scouting and formation work goes on behind the scenes and at training. Hopefully we don’t pay the assistant travel as he gets sent all over the place to watch. Danny likes to play attacking football and we have seen some great players like Joe Raynes (now at Bath) and Rex Mannings (now at Weston) over the years.
THE LINE-UP
I can’t be telling you that!
PRE-MATCH REFRESHMENTS
Plenty of pubs in town around a 10/15 minute walk away (uphill trek back to the ground mind) lots also go to the vine tree just down the road for one but the club house is big as well and has two different sides to go in and sky sports.
FACTS ON FROME TOWN
We were struggling to win at home during the 2003/04 season and had scored 31 away goals but only 3 home goals. We turned to the help of a local “White Witch”, Titania Hardie. This brought huge media interest from all over the World. It worked immediately and we went on a magnificent run that saw us go on to finish 3rd in the league.
PREDICTION
Going for a sneaky 2-1 win for us. Unbeaten at home since March and hopefully a big vocal crowd getting behind the team.
