Bobby talks about the Angels

ABOUT THE POD

Fly Like An Angel started as a Lockdown idea, to keep fans together during our FA Cup run which saw us get to the first round with no fans in attendance. We went from strength to strength; interviewing current players and Tonbridge legends, Tonbridge fans & opposition fans. We now meet up once a month for an episode on all things Angels. Basically it’s like a live Pub chat!

RECENT FORM

Very good. Won 3 drawn 3 in our last 6, but our away form guide is much better than our home! The league form since October has been excellent.

HIGHLIGHTS

Last minute winner v St Albans is the stand out. We haven’t won a cup game this year and until mid October we were flirting with the relegation zone. So, any game from the last month has been a highlight as we finally are playing to the potential that the fans feel we have. From relegation zone to 6 points from 2^nd is not a bad turn around in a month!

KEY PLAYERS

Jordan Greenidge – big man, goal scorer. Might not do much else in the game but you wouldn’t look far past him when it comes to goals. Sean Shields, excellent crosser of the ball. Ex-Southend midfielder Lewis Gard is a fan favourite, along with Ex-Football league player Scott Wagstaff (known for knocking West Ham out the FA Cup when with Wimbledon).

THE MANAGER

Jay Saunders. Experienced Kent based Non-league manager. Took our rivals Mai**one from the Isthmian Division 1 to the National League, and is now looking to take Tonbridge into the National league for the first time in our history. The team likes to play passing football and width.

Henly, Hinds, Meade, Sutcliffe, Swift. Shields, Gard, Wagstaff, Higgs, Dabre. Greenidge

AWAY FOLLOWING

A coach is coming down, should be about 50 of us. We will sing!

STRENGTHS/WEAKNESSES

I am not giving that away!

BEST OPPOSITION

Yeovil have really been the only stand out team for me. The fact the rest of the league is so close shows you no one else is really that special this year.

PREDICTION

2-1 to Tonbridge. PS, Ask Gary Johnson if he knows where we are now (he upset a lot of Tonbridge fans by not knowing who we were when we beat you in the FA Trophy!) .
