Miles talks about Borough

ABOUT ME

Hi my name is Miles, I’m 20, and I’ve supported Eastbourne since 2016. My very first game was a Sussex senior cup victory over Worthing at the Amex! We haven’t won a trophy since mind. I’ve been following Borough home and away since 2021.

RECENT FORM

Our recent form has been very poor. Only one win in the last 10 in all comps. We’ve had a lot of injuries to key players and only just started to get them back. The squad is also very young and can be quite naive at times, our manager, Mark Beard, is also inexperienced.

HIGHLIGHTS

Our highlights this season are the 3-2 comeback away win against St Albans away where Zak Emmerson scored a hat-trick! Also Sam Beard’s worldie from distance against WSM was quality. Another personal favourite highlight was our quick fire double away at Yeovil to take the lead.

KEY PLAYERS

Our key players are Shiloh Remy, Jack Paxman and Brad Barry. Shiloh won player of the year for us last season whilst scoring 13 goals from right wing. He’s a technical player who can score and create as well. Paxman is the heartbeat of the midfield, has great grit and determination and quality too. A shame he’s injured for the game on Tuesday. Brad Barry is our captain and has experience in the football league with Stevange and Swindon. He’s a true leader and leads by example.

THE MANAGER

As I mentioned earlier Mark is a new manager who still has a lot to prove. His philosophy is to play exciting football primarily in a 352 or 442. Runs in behind are where we thrive with our quick wingers and Holman/Emmerson up front.

THE LINE-UP

It genuinely is so hard to say at the moment as the team changes week in week out due to injuries. I’ll give my best guess though…
