OPPOSITION Q&A – Taunton Town

OPPOSITION Q&A

“A good atmosphere with something for the whole family.”

Taunton Town Chairman Kevin Sturmey answers our questions on Taunton Town, matchdays at The Cygnet Health Care Stadium and more, as we start to look ahead to 23-24

THE GROUND

It’s a Step 5 ground we are trying to convert in to a Step 1 Stadium, but we own 4.6 acres so a good start! We are ambitious but with such a short close season we will be continually working on the Stadium for a number of years, but have planning in place and some ongoing negotiations to develop and fund some major development.

HISTORY OF THE GROUND

The club moved here in 1953.

THE MATCHDAY EXPERIENCE

One of the best we believe in our League and always trying to improve it. Different food and drink outlets and a good atmosphere with something for the whole family.

SEGREGATION

No, but we envisage a lot more this season due to so many local derbies! We will segregate for Yeovil and Torquay and possibly a few others, dependent upon Police advice.

PRICES

Prices can be found here: https://tauntontown.com/club/stadium-pricing/

FOOD AND DRINK OPTIONS

Changes daily as a lot of pubs continue to shut, so come to the Stadium at 1pm! Probably best to view Taunton websites but we will make sure there is plenty of choice for fans who arrive early!

GETTING TO THE GROUND

Parking is available in the ground usually full by 2pm and also Moorfields when weather permits. Car Parking is £2 for both car parks, cash preferred.

This will be added to as new Vendors sign up but we have a Pasty Boys Van planned along with an Ice Cream Van. When we segregate for League matches we will provide as many different outlets as possible in the Away Section.

MOST ANTICIPATED AWAY DAYS

I think Dartford have got it spot on for a new ground, very well designed and plenty of parking and very professional.

EXPECTATIONS FOR 23/24

We will look to break in to the top half after finishing 14th in our first season.
