TUFC Tweets of the Week – 6th Feb 2020

Sam Jones – @samuellejones

Tweets of the week returns! After a long awaited hiatus, Yellow Twitter’s favourite TorquayTalk Tweets of the Week feature is back. And it is a doozy!

Since the last edition, lots has happened. We’ve won game, we’ve lost games, and we’ve drawn games. You know, the full suite of football results.

Let’s have some Tweets to stop me rambling on shall we?

5 – I love Ruairi Keating…

It was a sad day when everyone’s favourite Irishman left for pastures new. The lovable forward became a cult hero in his 3 years at the club, but fell out of favour of Gary Johnson and moved up north to get some game time. Ronan Keating will never be the same again.

4 – That’s a road trip for you…

After Barrow lost to Dover on the weekend, their coach broke down on the way back home so they had to share a coach with the fans. @Tufcreid’s shout of Reid, Hall and Whitfield wouldn’t be a bad roadtrip. Honourable mentions for Cameron and MacDonald too, those Geordies know how to have a good time.

3 – Far from encouraging news.

The accounts of the club were leaked by Kieran Maguire on Twitter, and it’s not great reading. The club is in a lot of debt, most of it being owed to Clarke Osborne. Looks like we need to go up before the plug is pulled.

2 – Jose knows what’s up.

We’ve all seen the latest Mourinho gif of him running to the referee. The man is full of giffable moments that can be applied to any situation, and this is one. Other such entries include: saying Reidy can’t cut it at NL level, Owers was unlucky and that Asa Hall doesn’t have a beautiful beard.

1 – Great contribution to a worthy cause.

After the tragic passing of footballer Jordan Sinnott a couple of weeks ago, those who knew him have asked for shirts to display at his funeral from as many different teams as possible. The Gulls decided to join in with this fantastic cause and send a shirt as well.
