Summary: Macclesfield dominate the first half, as United struggle to match the away team in all areas. Nico’s boys do improve after the break; almost nicking a winner near the end. A decent point from a match low on quality, United have to start games better!

TUFC Goals:
A corner from the right finds McGinty at the back post to head home. A reward for better United attitude and pressure early in the second half. Sean is understandably delighted!
Man of the match: Sparkes gives United welcome movement and crosses in the second half, almost creating a winner at the death with a glorious left foot teaser.
Tactics: 3 in midfield again, with Richards and Lathrope sitting close to the defence; whilst Young is charged with supporting the lonely Brett upfront! The tactics are defensive and almost show too much respect for the opposition.
Key moment: The Silkmen come to life with 10 minutes to go and smart interplay creates a great chance, but the shot is tame and straight at Brendan. A goal at that time would have almost certainly sealed an away victory.
Player spotlight: Myles Anderson. Another match, another centre back on loan! Myles is not as imposing or vocal as Racine, however he looks reasonably assured and makes some key challenges to keep United level. His partnership with McGinty shows promise, and Nico will be hoping to keep a settled back four in the forthcoming fixtures.
